High-Risk vs Low-Risk Pregnancy: How to Prepare Your Body

Most women are told they’re “low risk”… until suddenly they’re not.

This is one of the most confusing and misunderstood parts of modern pregnancy — and it’s rarely explained in a way that actually helps women understand what’s happening or what they can do about it.

In this video, I break down the difference between high risk and low risk pregnancy, and why the conversation is often oversimplified. While there are absolutely factors we can’t control, there are also many aspects of our health that do influence how pregnancy unfolds.

I share my perspective from working in both home birth and hospital settings, and why I believe preparation before pregnancy matters far more than most women are told.

We talk about:

  • the role of nutrition and blood sugar balance

  • why minerals and nervous system health matter

  • the importance of physical strength and resilience

  • how birth education changes the way you experience pregnancy and labor

This isn’t about perfection or guarantees. It’s about understanding what’s within your control and approaching pregnancy in a more intentional, informed way.

If you’re thinking about conceiving — or you want a clearer understanding of what shapes pregnancy outcomes — this is a conversation worth having.
